If your DBS certificate is clear (in that, there is no relevant information recorded on the certificate) you will not need to send the certificate to the ECB, nor should you be asked to show it to anybody within cricket.
If your DBS certificate has content, you will receive an official email requesting that you send the original certificate to the ECB. This is so that the content may be reviewed and any further enquiries made. The ECB’s process around reviewing DBS certificates is set out on the ECB website https://www.ecb.co.uk/safeguarding.
Failure to send your DBS certificate with content to the ECB will result in suspension from ALL cricket, not just the role for which you are applying.
Please note that scanned/photocopies of certificates will not accepted. You will need to provide the original copy.
