Paying for your DBS application Follow
If you are a volunteer, you do not need to pay for your DBS application.
For non-volunteer applications, the applicant will receive a payment request email after the verification process has been completed. This email will contain a link to pay for the application. The fee is £44.
To pay, the applicant should click the link in the email, or log into their applicant account on the DBS portal and follow the instructions to pay.
The rules around whether or not someone is a volunteer are not the ECB's but HMRC’s. There is no separate DBS for paid roles – the same DBS covers paid and voluntary.
See the following link for more info: Click here
The fee for the DBS (if someone has to pay for it) is of course deductible against taxes if someone is earning money from the role that requires it (professional coaches for example).
Please note, it must be the applicant who pays for their own application, using their own card details. It cannot be paid for by anyone else on the applicant's behalf.
